About the Project

Paradox Sports improves people’s lives by creating physical adaptive sport communities built to inspire. There are three main functions of our organization: Provide adaptive trips and events all over the nation, teach other people about adaptive techniques and gear, and create community for adaptive sports.

All of our activities revolve around those three functions. We organize general adaptive and veteran-specific rock, ice, water, and wilderness trips, including events on Mt. Rainier, The Grand Teton, Yosemite National Park, The Gunks, and more.

We partner with Adaptive Adventures to run the Front Range Adaptive Climbing Club, which meets in Boulder, Golden, and Denver to bring people with disabilities together to learn to climb.

In 2014, we created the first-ever Adaptive Climbing Curriculum, with hands-on training, a handbook, and a gear package to help other gyms, schools, and organizations set up their own adaptive climbing clubs. We have begun to implement the curriculum and received a $25,000 grant from The North Face to deliver the curriculum across the nation.

In addition to these central activities, we take pride in creating networks and communities in adaptive sports through social outings, support of individual athletes, and spreading awareness about adaptive sports.
